Post?!

I am itching to move…. I’m going on a year and a half of living in this place and I have not lived in the same dwelling for more than a year since I was 19.  This is also my first time living in an apartment and my first time living without roommates. I miss having a house with a yard and a front porch where I can put my carved pumpkins. I miss coming home to a house where I can admire light peeking through windows, and being able to take pictures in my yard at night without a neighbor seeing me and thinking I’m strange. I really miss my last house… I was living with my best friend, her boyfriend and their child. Kristine and Miguel would come over and I would cook dinner, bake cookies, get drunk and occassionally I would ride bicycles with them. It had a fenced in yard for my dog to play, it was close to downtown and my job. It was very much the best year of my life.

Once it gets close to the end of the year, my mind races and I tend to dwell on those long-gone moments from my past. I have decided to post images from my past. Enjoy.

 

I did a couple of long-exposure images from my front yard when I lived in Cayce.  I hated living there, which is why I only stayed for about 6months before packing my things and leaving one weekend. If I remember correctly, these had an exposure of about 5 mins.

   

My friend Brana and I decided to take pictures at the old Gallery 701 before it was renovated. We had planned on trespassing, and while scoping out an entry point, we ran into a group of people that were actually being given a tour by the owner of the place. We asked if we could tag along, and they happily allowed us in! 

 

The semester before my first gallery show, I took a portfolio class and I decided to do images of sketchy places in Columbia at night. These were my two favorites of the 10 images I shot.
